About Us

"Designing and building one of a kind works of art that go way beyond functionality"

"Formally DC CUES"

My name is Dennis Clements and my wife's name is Sharon. I have been repairing cues and building custom cues since October 2005. All the cues in my "available cues" section were designed by me and or my wife. The "archives" section has a combination of SOLD cues that were designed by us, or cues that were built to a customers specifications. My shop is in my home in Webb City, MO (southwest corner of MO) and I am a one man shop. The equipment I use includes a four axis cnc lathe/mill designed exclusively for cue work, table saw, another lathe, planer, grinder, band saw, sanders, drill press and various other tools and jigs, some of which I have made. I invested over a year in research before deciding on what type of equipment to buy so I could do the quality work I demand. As for my history, I took a lot of wood shop classes in high school (Workman High, City of Industry, CA class of 1975). I also worked at "Peerless-Hydril in Santa Fe Springs, CA" in the late seventies. While at this company I ran large metal saws, large HES engine lathes, smaller Hardinge lathes, and spent time in the inspection department. This company made oil well valves of various types and were built to extremely close tolerances. Between 1980 and 2005 I was in direct sales of various products (most of that time self employed as a distributor). In 1991 my wife and I opened a cosmetology school here in town which she runs and has built into the largest school in the area. Because of its success, it has allowed me to do what I had been wanting to for many years, build top quality cues. I went into the cue building and repairing business full time from the start, it is not my sideline or hobby. Since I started I have seen and repaired many cues from production to customs and have arrived at what I believe is the best way to construct a cue. My cues deliver a very solid hit that also allows you to play with finesse. What I mean by that can be compared to trying to drive a car when the power steering is going out, to driving a new car where steering is almost effortless. You don't have to work hard to get the results you need. A few of the features of my cues include a Joint pin and A-Joint pin which I make that is made of G-10 Glass Epoxy, 3/8-7.64 ball radius (3/8-8 for short), and has a flat bottom. I make these pins with a pilot (smooth unthreaded portion at each end) to allow perfect alignment in either application. I also cut a glue relief groove down the length of each pin to allow for the pin to bottom out in the Forearm/A-Joint without having an air gap or void. This eliminates the worry of buzzes or rattles and produces a solid butt. I take approximately one year to make a shaft instead of six months which is common. I have many shafts in progress so waiting is no problem. I could go on about construction techniques, but the truth is in the hitting, so let your game begin with a tool that does the job.....Dennis Clements
